Isole di Brissago is a nice botanical island in Lago Maggiore in Brissago, Switzerland, near the Italian border. It is obviously not quite a mediterranean climate there, since it has more rainfall, but it is a very warm spot.
Hobbygardener (MGS member) with a rooftop garden in Basel and a garden on heavy clay with sand 600m from seaside in Costa Blanca South (precipitation 300mm), learning to garden waterwise

Very nice, thanks for the piccies.
I think the last one is a Taxodium (distichum or ascendens), judging by the 'knees' and foliage.
