Prune in summer for second (autumn) flowering
« on: July 05, 2011, 11:29:07 AM »
John Fielding has kindly got some advice for us from Marcus Ryan, Australian nurseryman, about encouraging spring-flowering or early summer-flowering herbaceous plants such as some salvias, Achillea hybrids and globe flowers to have a second flowering in autumn. Marcus recommends a drastic midsummer pruning. See here for more detail.
