Ranunculus? IDd by Oron as Ficaria verna
« on: October 20, 2011, 10:49:16 AM »
These buttercups flower in my Corfu garden in February and last till the end of March. I have tentatively identified them as Ranunculus ficaria or sbsp. ficariformis, because of the heart-shaped glossy leaves with lighter speckles and the glittering shininess of the yellow flowers. However some doubt has been cast on this. Anyone have an opinion?

Not sure regarding the subsp. but it is Ficaria verna, Ranunculus ficaria is now a Synonym.
