white flowering shrub IDd by John and Oron as Spiraea arguta
« on: September 13, 2011, 08:36:10 AM »
We saw this low spreading shrub in the gardens at Aranjuez, south of Madrid.
It looks  like too many shrubs for me to identify.
Any Ideas?

Looks like a Spiraea to me. Possibly S. arguta.

S. x vanhouttei has different leaves: widwer, shorter, dark green and much serrated.
I would echo John by saying  arguta.

OK, arguta, agreed: I rather prefer the flowering habit of this form to the very long flowering branchlets of the much commoner Bridal Wreath types.
