Parsnips?
« on: October 09, 2022, 04:23:16 PM »
Has anyone managed to grow them, and if so what variety would you recommend. I know they need the cold to sweeten but I've heard that you can put them in the freezer briefly one you've cropped them... would love to try.
20 years gardening on a handkerchief in London, now creating a much bigger plot in the south of Crete...much to learn

You ask about parsnips . This Forum no longer works as a Forum but I searched in the index of our Journal and found GROWING VEGETABLES FOR A HEALTHY MEDITERRANEAN DIET, by Dick Handscombe .
TMG number 70 October 2012.
Parsnips, leeks, onions, peas and others are mentioned as growing over winter
