Pete and Jan retired to le Marche, Italy 20 years ago for a quiet,  sunny life.  Gardening here was a challenge, but we now have a wonderful garden, with an eclectric selection of plants,  including many wild  flowers and orchids of which we are found of.

As Umbrian said,  Oh dear.  The potato plants don't look very healthy.  I  am posting a photo of my nephew's Marrow.  It is as long as the width of his kitchen window.  For a non gardener he is doing well.  It will be used in the autumn to make 'kolokopites'.  Semi sweet pasties.
I garden in Cyprus, in a flat old farming field, alt. approx. 30 m asl.
