AGAPANTHUS FOR YOUR GARDEN
By Trevor Nottle
There is a list of cultivars in this article and information about how to look after these plants
I have a photo from 2010 of an agapanthus plant which grew very near our home but I have not seen it since

THE DAY TRIP by Russell Read

I enjoyed reading this story and was glad to find enough photos in my archives to illustrate it

Ivy, a lizard, hibiscus, figs, unfortunately on a plate, date palms, a pomegranate and an apple

KANKERBOS
By Tom Wellsted

 Kankerbos, Cancer bush, Sutherlandia frutescens.

To quote from this article
‘Fortunately, this shrub has not suffered from a mass of botanical name changes ‘

I don’t know which year this plant underwent a name change but it is now known as Lessertia frutescens.

There is a drawing of this plant by Derek Toms in THE MEDITERRANEAN GARDEN number 65, July 2011 which I was very glad to find as there doesn’t seem to be a photo of it anywhere on THE MEDITERRANEAN GARDEN SOCIETY site

THE MEDITERRANEAN GARDEN NUMBER 2 AUTUMN 1995
(M) EDITORIAL by Derek Toms and Caroline Harbouri

I quote from this article
“Alien species can escape from the garden and invade local plant communities with detrimental consequences-including the introduction of pests or diseases which have no natural check in the new habitat.”

and post a couple of photos of the dreaded Bermuda Buttercup in inappropriate places and a close up for admirers

THE MEDITERRANEAN GARDEN number 2, AUTUMN 1995

On the last page, a poem by
Spyros Harbouris

Looking through my photos I found several showing the sea and wild flowers

The Ionian Sea looking towards Albania from Corfu with dried wild flowers in the foreground
The Aegean from Amorgos when Drimia maritima was still named Urginea maritima
The Saronic Gulf and Cyclamen
The Gulf of Corinth and Mandragora
