The information about the cover illustration of THE MEDITERRANEAN GARDEN number 26, October 2001 is as follows

The cover illustration entitled ‘Light Through the Olives’ is an etching/ aquatint by Delia Deldefield

In the same journal there is an article about THE IMPORTANCE OF SHADE IN THE MEDITERRANEAN GARDEN by Ettore Paterno which, although does not mention olive trees, some of you might find interesting 

I am posting two photos of Olive trees
The first taken in 1966 in late September or early October near Sparta
The second taken in October 2018 between Mystras and Sparta

Luckily some information is given about the artist and the scene which the drawing illustrates

The cover shows the waterwise garden at Kirstenbosch (see page 20)
