One of the Woodcock Orchids? .......beautiful photographs I am sure one of our experts will be able to name it.

Probably not the right place for this post but on the subject of Orchids.... I had been nourishing a growing colony of Lady Orchids - Orchis purpurea- in the garden of the house we sold last year. The young new owners are not experienced gardeners but nevertheless very interested and I was thrilled recently to be shown  a photograph of a Lady Orchid asking what it was. Obviously they are in safe hands.

Carole's right, it is a very handsome form of the Woodcock Orchid, Ophrys scolopax. Did you find it near you in Croatia?

Yes, on a hill inland from the coast about 20km from Dubrovnik near a village I walk about. So far found seven different species but was not sure about this as it seems to be so variable. Thanks for the identification!! Here you may see photos of all the orchids I've noted here https://mravinjac.wordpress.com/2018/04/28/orchids-of-mravinjac/
