Succulent ID'd by Oron as Crassula rupestris 'Springtime'
« on: January 19, 2014, 05:03:27 PM »
I've been growing this very well behaved Sedum in a clay pan for a few years.
It usually gets clobbered by winter hail storms, but this year it has been lucky (so far), so it is looking its best.

Please can somebody ID it for me?
Thanks in advance.

Mike
Not a Sedum but a cultivar of Crassula rupestris called 'Springtime', like other Crassula it blooms in January.
Commercial growers just call it Crassula Springtime.

Doh! - sorry - yes - Crassula - what was I thinking?!
And thanks so much not only for the species, but the cultivar - brilliant!

Well, the weather in Cyprus has continued to be kind (no hail), and as a consequence, my little Crassula has opened its flower buds and is looking the best I've ever seen it. So let me take this opportunity to share it with you!

Looking through this old thread I think that I have discovered that I have Crassula rupestris "Springtime" too. Certainly looks like it from the photos posted by Mike and identified by Oron.
I have a small garden in Rome, Italy. Some open soil, some concrete, some paved. Temperatures in winter occasionally down to 0°C. Summer temperatures up to 40°C in the shade. There are never watering restrictions but, of course, there is little natural water for much of June, July and August.
