Our almond, plum and apple trees are in full bloom.
Cyprus Branch Head. Gardens in a field 40 m above sea level with reasonably fertile clay soil.

We went for a drive today to the area between the sea and Ancient Corinth.
This are is called Valto which means marsh, the ground looks like dried up mud
There is a mixture of holiday homes, factories,  abandoned grape vines, abandoned orange trees, beautiful tidy olive groves, bee hives, and  even an  excavated ancient cemetery in this area .
The photos are from three orchards in flower today.
I wish you could hear the buzz of the bees visiting the blossom

I am afraid I don't know.
Apparently I should have looked at the shape of the leaves

They look like peach blossom and the third pic shows the leaves damaged by peach-leaf curl!

The lady who had owned our house previously had planted out a row of 4 crab-apples which were one of the purple leafed varieties. When the understock came up and flowered they appeared to be different on each tree! We liked the largest one better than the crab-apple and so we kept them all. This one has beautiful flowers and produces really great eating apples ;D - if we can keep the parrots from getting at them!
cheers

The first sign of blossom this year on one of our apple trees.
