But which one?
This tree is growing in the pavement in Nea Smyrni, a green suburb of Athens.
When the town was laid out, about 1926, it was decided that the building line should be a few meters back from the pavement.
Now, when most of the one story  houses have been replaced by tall blocks of flats, there is still the green 'garden' in front.

No garden but two balconies, one facing south and the other north.
Most of my plants are succulents which need little care

The flowers look just like the ones we had on our Washington Palms but that is hardly conclusive.
G'day from an Aussie in Spain. Currently attempting a total garden overhaul.

Many thanks JayB,

I think this tree must be a Washingtonia robusta Mexican fan palm.
I wonder if the people who planted it in the pavement knew that it grows to 15 meters if not taller?

There are a few of these trees in the central square here in Corinth but they are so tall I have never noticed their flowers or tried to put a name to them.
However, they do make small  bead like seeds.

A year ago to the day I snapped a volunteer growing in a hole in the paving slab.
It was no longer there a few weeks later.
