Isthmia.
Spring seems to have finished here at the beginning of May

Isthmia ancient site  in July.
All very dried up except for the green Pine Trees

Pine Trees and seed heads.
Greco- Roman theatre from the 2nd half of the 5th C. BC
A reconstruction of the Starting Gates at the stadium.

Not a flower in sight but the reason for visiting the Isthmia site in the middle of the summer.
I saw these mosaics many years ago but in subsequent visits they were always  covered up with sand or being restored.

I don't know if they will be permanently uncovered now or is it just for the summer.

The lost post from May 2013 seems to have turned up again.
As a bonus here is a photo from a postcard they were selling in the museum in 2013.
I hadn't seen this gold bull and asked where it was.
It is the size of a little finger nail

Hilary, thanks for recovering these photos - and for so kindly not disclosing that it was my own cack-handed attempt to combine them with your much more recent post that had somehow managed to delete that March 2013 one!   :-\

Many wild flowers in May among the ruins

We walked down to see the mosaic in the Great Hall of the Roman bath which gave me the opportunity of snapping yet more wild flowers
