What is it 79? (Now revealed!)

"What is it?" Is what I asked myself when I found this in the garden!

It looks a bit like my unsuccessful Hyacinths grown in special glass vases.

It looks like a small, pink Muscari armeniacum, but would that be in flower at this time of the year in your garden?
Retired veterinary surgeon by training with a PhD in parasitology,  but worked as a virologist since 1992.

It looked to me like a pink scilla or hyacinth which made no sense as it's nearly autumn here!
A clue should be that it's in Australia ;D
