In our garden in Arta, Mallorca, we have lots of pistacia lentiscus of all sizes.This plant is known to be very resistent and perfectly adapted to the local climate. Now, during the last 12 months, we have observed three plants (unfortunately rather big ones), whose leaves turned red during a very short period of time (seven to fourteen days). They looked like burned, dehydrated completely, and after about three weeks we had to recognize that the little tree was dead. There were no visible signs of pests whatsoever. What amazed us was the fact, that all three plants were situated in a straight line, though with a few meters' distance. Other pistacia lentiscus, situated directly beside the sick ones, are so far prospering perfectly well.
As we are a bit concerned that this could be the effect of a fungus that may spread, we would be very glad to get information and advice about this "mystery".
