For members living in Italy or indeed anyone travelling in Italy at the right time the "Murabilia" garden fair held in Lucca is well worth a visit. The fair takes place this year 2nd, 3rd and 4th September. Google "Murabilia" or click here for full information.

Thanks, Carole: this is exactly the sort of thing that's well worth telling people about.

For anybody in  or around Rome the last weekend in April there is the twice-yearly plant show at La Landriana https://www.landriana.com/ Worth a visit. There is usually a bus service laid on from the local train station to the garden except on Sunday. Then you would have a 7km walk there and 7km back along a fairly busy road with no pavement.
I have a small garden in Rome, Italy. Some open soil, some concrete, some paved. Temperatures in winter occasionally down to 0°C. Summer temperatures up to 40°C in the shade. There are never watering restrictions but, of course, there is little natural water for much of June, July and August.
