It is the time of the Magnolia.
We saw this one in a small yard in Sparta at the end of March

Another Magnolia, this time in the Retiro park, Madrid.
A sole small tree near one of the lakes.

We saw this Magnolia tree in one of the gardens of the Paris mosque.
The flowers growing out of the tree trunk surprised us

Magnolia trees, but not this one specifically, are mentioned in many issues of THE MEDITERRANEAN GARDEN

Beautiful and impressive tree alas not suitable for our garden.
