Basil

I know in some parts Basil is not an annual but it certainly is here - even the ones they sell as "perennial"!
This pretty one deserves to be grown in the flower border, 'Siam Queen' is a form of "Thai Basil" which has congested flower heads and it looks quite attractive and it combines well with the soft mauve of catmint,
cheers

Yes I think Siam Queen is pretty. I grow it in the veggie garden every summer.

Fermi have you grown Perilla frutescens purpurea? In Japanese it's called Shiso. It comes up self seeded every year in my garden and I love it as an ornamental.
Long hot summers, mild wet winters. Rainfall approx. 600mm pa.
Summer maximums over 40 degrees, winter minimums occasionally below freezing.
Gardening on neutral clay loam and sandy loam.
