Paliurus spina-christi, Christ’s Thorn, Jerusalem Thorn
This bush was everywhere we went, lining the road to Fort Roupel, and to  Agistro, on the edge of Kerkini Lake and then at Chrisochorafa
I had no idea what it was and it always seemed to be growing next to narrow windy roads across a ditch and difficult to reach. However, I found a bush at Chrisochorafa which was standing alone in a field and managed to get a couple of decent photos
Luckily for me the Kerkini Lake Information Centre in the section about shrublands and woodlands mentions that’ Paliurus spina- christi, Christ’s thorn, is a very spiny shrub common in places of low altitude’
