Could someone please give me the latest name of this plant?
There seems to be some confusion about the subject

Cineraria maritima, Hilary. The confusion is due to the fact that Centaurea gymnocarpa has similar leaves and is sometimes called dusty miller as well (but has purplish pink flowers).

Long hot summers, mild wet winters. Rainfall approx. 600mm pa.
Summer maximums over 40 degrees, winter minimums occasionally below freezing.
Gardening on neutral clay loam and sandy loam.

Hilary, Just to add a little to Jamus's ID:

The plant was for years called Senecio cineraria, but in current taxonomy is properly called Jacobaea maritima. What does confuse the issue is that the plant produces a substance which homeopathic druggists still call "Cineraria Maritima"!

"homeopathic druggists"? that's an oxymoron isn't it?
