How to take care of flowering cherry tree grafts?
« on: March 29, 2014, 01:13:20 AM »
About one month ago I received some cuttings of Prunus Serrulata Kanzan (or Kwanzan) from a friend.
I grafted them on Prunus Avium from seeds, born spontaneously some years ago in an abandoned vineyard.
It seems that all of my 8 grafts are good and are putting out new leaves and flowers (see photos).
Next winter I'm going to eradicate them and plant them in my garden.
I don't know if the mother plant had diseases in the past, but, considering that my plants are in an abandoned vineyard, surrounded by weeds and not exposed to direct sun but mainly in shadow, have I to make fungicides and pests preventive treatments?
Anyway, which are the fungicides and the insecticides used on flowering cherry tree?
