I noticed some autumn flowering Jacarandas in Kalamata yesterday. They are grown as street trees there, and in spring they are an amazing sight. It occurs to me that, as well as rarely experiencing frost, Kalamata tends to have quite high humidity, which I imagine the trees enjoy.
