Succulent IDd by Chantal as Sedum praealtum

I have had this plant for many years but have never managed to identify it.
It seems to be hardy as we get some high winds from the sea  here and my son has it in Sparta where the winters can be colder and wetter. the plant survives the winter and produces these yellow flowers in February

That is  a curious one, it has the leaves of a Crassula but the flowers are  those of  a Sedum...

Sedum palmeri.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I looked on the internet at Sedum palmeri but I don't think this is it.
The rosettes are very lax and the stalks become long, lanky and unattractive.

Hello Hilary,

Yes, I confirm this is Sedum palmeri. I have the plant and next time you come and visit me, ask me to show my plant, so you can compare.

Hello Chantal,
Thanks for the confirmation.
Coming to think about it I don't know anyone else, except my daughter in law, who has this plant

I just had a look on the internet and it looks like images of Sedum confusum. S. palmeri has slightly glaucous leaves?

I stil think it is S. palmeri.
Sedum confusum has a diiferent growth habit, lushy green, smaller leaves.
I think Hilary's plant just lack a bit of sun therefor slightly greenier than normal.

John and Oron,
I looked up the Sedum confusum idea and while it looks like something else I have it didn't look like the succulent in question.
However, I did come across Sedum praealtum which looks just right

Hilary,

You said : "Coming to think about it I don't know anyone else, except my daughter in law, who has this plant".
Sometimes, plants are passing around from people to other people living in the same area.
And sedum palmeri is an old fashioned plant that every grand mother is keeping alive on a balcony here in the south. Where did your daughter in law get it from ? Perhaps it is a clue ?

Again, I checked myself on Internet, and my conclusion is my own plant is definitively sedum palmeri and yours, Hilary seems to be Sedum praealtum, because mine is lower and compact and don't have any stems visible like what I saw on Internet images.

Chantal,
Thanks for your reply.
My daughter in law got it from me and I don't remember where I got it from.
Someone, sometime gave me a piece which rooted easily

Hello Hilary,

I am so sorry for the mistake I did. I am just realising that you are not the Hilary I know, who is another MGS member living in Languedoc and active member of our branch.
It is the reason why I asked you to show me your plant next time you come and visit me.
You could not understand.......
