We saw this plant in Wadi Rum in October.
The photo is out of focus and pretty fuzzy.
Do you think it might be Anabasis syriaca?

Hilary,
This is Anabasis articulata,
It blooms in October- November in different shads of, Golden-Green, Pink to almost Red.
It is a real beauty, and amazing to see how it meneges to set such a displey after a boiling dry summer.

hi Oron,n it can also be Hammasa salicornia, irs hard to say from the picture.

I am posting another photo of the mystery plant.
This one shows footprints in the sand if that is any help with the size
