unidentified plant, Pelion, Greece IDd by Oron as Chimonanthus praecox

We saw this in a garden in the village of Milies , 400m., on the western side of Mount Pelion.
I have tried for several years to identify it but with no success.
It would be wonderful if one of you could put a mane to it
The flowers were powerfully scented and the branches were bare.
It appeared to be either a small tree or a tall bush.
I hope the photo goes this time as it didn't go yesterday

Your plant is Chimonanthus praecox, native to C & S China.
