Ficus ID'd by Oron as Ficus retusa [Tiger bark Ficus]

We bought this unlabelled Ficus 11 years ago. It has not grown hugely in that time and is now about 1.2 x 1.2 metres. It has palish green leaves, 5-6 cm long, and white-grey stems.

Alice, it looks like a thirsty Ficus retusa [Tiger bark Ficus].

Min temp 5c Max 42c, around 450mm rain.

I have long wondered which species it was, as it doesn't have any particularly distinguishing features.
You are right about it being thirsty - it doesn't get much water, rain or by irrigation.

I've moved John Fielding's notes on another interesting fig to the main Ficus section in Trees and Shrubs.
