Trimming at Sparoza

Latest trimming volunteering at Sparoza !

Last May, I was visiting the garden with Sally Razelou, we had a discussion about my passion of clipping and pruning, and about some bunches of trees along the garden that would need clipping. We therefore planned that I could be of some help during my next stay in Greece.

That became true a few months later... Last week, I therefore spent a whole day pruning two Pinus halepensis and one Pinus pinea above the nursery : more light was requested for plants above the trees, more space was necessary for the beautiful Brachychiton.
Une taille en transparence as we say in french...

For those who speak french or have a browser translator, we can have a look at my blog, where I have put additional pictures of my latest visit in the beautiful garden.

I have been so happy helping there, this garden is such a great place for those like me who are passionate about the mediterranean flora (and greek native flora as well...).
I look forward to coming back there soon.

Have a good day !

Well done Gabriel - I saw the excellent results on Thursday when I took mgspresident over to see the garden again. At thetime I realised that this could provide an answer to Janet Ibbotson's question under Pruning Umbrella Pines. We'll see how the trees react to early autumn pruning which Alisdair also suggested.

Thank you very much Fleur for your kind and quick response.
I hope you had a great time with Jean Vaché. I'm glad Sally has mentioned my "hands-on" at Sparoza !
Yes, I agree, we'll see how the trees react to a summer prunning. I may be back there in December, if I'm luck enough to spend Xmas in Greece.
