Title: Citrus - insect eggs on leaves (not citrus leaf miner, Phyllocnistis citrella)
Post by: MikeHardman on May 13, 2012, 10:08:41 AM
I found these dark brown eggs in groups on leaves of some of my citruses today.
I know they are not citrus leaf miner (Phyllocnistis citrella) because that lays its eggs singly, as shown here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Phyllocnistis_citrella_egg.jpg).
They are not the eggs of citrus shield bug (Rhynchocoris humeralis, or other species) (wrong shape).
Some were laid on the upper surface, some on the underside. They are ~0.8mm long.
Any ideas?

Mike they may be sawfly larvae, Hymenoptera but you would have to do some research.  david
