This is quite common, but I have no idea what it is!
it forms an untidy mess, up to perhaps 2m tall,
in flower and fruit now,
quite common in the Polis area (lowland, western Cyprus) but I have no idea elsewhere in Cyprus

Mike, a pure guess but try Asparagus acutifolius.

Confirmed by description in Flora of Cyprus.
