Title: Lobelia tupa and valida

I am trying to grow these two Lobelias tupa and valida.  I am getting conflicting opinions about the water requirements.  Some say they need very moist soil and some say they are good for med (dry) climates.  Any experiences?  I would be grateful.

I wasn't succesful when i kept my soil moist. Must say that i haven't tried it with a dry soul tho...
