Title: A few flowers found in Italy
Post by: Fermi on November 22, 2021, 02:48:41 PM
My friend Jill is doing a talk on Italy this Saturday and needs some help identifying some flowers she photographed!
1) in Rome (white flower, in the Forum).
2) – yellow one outside Viterbo
3) white ?Corydalis/?Dicentra - Chinque Terre
4) outside Villa Lante (orchid, wild area of garden),
Thanks for any help Forum members can provide,
cheers

Hi Fermi,

For No 3, have a look at Fumaria capreolata or maybe Fumaria bicolor. I am no botanist so maybe way off the mark.

For the orchid Anacamptis morio might be a starting point.

Agree with David that the orchid is Ancamptis morio.
The second, yellow flower, is Greater Celandine - Chelidonium majus..
Sorry can't help, with the first but shall be interested to learn what it is 😊

I can't be sure but the first photo reminds me of Styrax officinalis.
