KANKERBOS
By Tom Wellsted
Kankerbos, Cancer bush, Sutherlandia frutescens.
To quote from this article
‘Fortunately, this shrub has not suffered from a mass of botanical name changes ‘
I don’t know which year this plant underwent a name change but it is now known as Lessertia frutescens.
There is a drawing of this plant by Derek Toms in THE MEDITERRANEAN GARDEN number 65, July 2011 which I was very glad to find as there doesn’t seem to be a photo of it anywhere on THE MEDITERRANEAN GARDEN SOCIETY site

“Alien species can escape from the garden and invade local plant communities with detrimental consequences-including the introduction of pests or diseases which have no natural check in the new habitat.”
and post a couple of photos of the dreaded Bermuda Buttercup in inappropriate places and a close up for admirers
