Mike, looks like what used to be called Clerodendrum ugandense but has now been changed to Rotheca myricoides.

I don't see many of them in my area, but (while in flower) they are distinctive by their blueness. They seem well behaved as regards vigour and response to pruning.
Now I've just got to cadge a piece or collect seed, and see how it fares in my soil.

Hi Mike.  Where have you seen this in Cyprus?  We saw some amazing specimens in Athens and in Cindy Evans'  garden in  Majorca but not here in Cyprus.  Ours was a gift from David  Dickinson , thousand thanks, and it came I believe from Lucca, Italy. It has been in the ground for three years. It decreased in size  and it is a small ' two stick' but has survived 2 hot summers. In fact it is trying to flower.
