Title: coreopsis
Post by: David Dickinson on June 16, 2020, 01:46:49 AM
I have tried with 2 perennial red Coreopsis but with little success. The first was C 'Limerock Ruby' which struggled through a summer but didn't come back the following year, The second, Coreopsis verticillata Sizzle & SpiceŽ 'Crazy Cayenne' has tried to come back this second year and is about to produce some flowers (first photo). Last year the plant was full and healthy looking. This year, not so much.

So I decided to try with the annual Coreopsis tinctoria 'Mahogany Midget' and so far so good. Even if it doesn't survive the heat of summer it will hopefully self seed and I'll get another late spring display next year.
