Title: Plant on wall in Dubrovnik ID'd by John Joynes as Capparis spinosa
Post by: Jaken on September 17, 2019, 05:53:57 PM
Hi you all.

Spotted these flowers growing in the spaces between the rocks in the old town of Dubrovnik. They have to be really hardy and draught tolerant.
What are they?

Aha! thank you John.
I'm new to the mediterranean fauna as you might have suspected.

They are notoriously difficult to establish Jaken but you should have a go! I was lucky enough to inherit some when moving to a new house and although the first flush of flowers have already produced the seed pods that some people preserve, new flowers are still opening .
