Title: Epirus, Greece
Post by: Hilary on November 14, 2017, 06:37:14 AM

We were on a bus trip to Epirus, northern Greece a couple of weeks ago. Although we have been to the area four times in the past, once in January and three times in November we really must make the effort to go in May when there are flowers to be seen
The road to Patras is perfect, the Suspension bridge over the Gulf of Corinth impressive and the new Ionian Road from Antirio to Ioannina finished except for the rest stops.  On the way back we had lunch in Metsovo and were back in Corinth in time for the football fans of the group to be able to watch a special football match.
Here are a few of the autumn photos I took. Not a flower in sight

Just looking at that bridge makes me feel giddy - did you go over it? :-[

No, I preferred watching some of the  people in the group making their way slowly and carefully over the bridge. There are many of these bridges in Epirus and I believe there is even a kind of bridge collecting tourism. Here you can read about a few of them

Our group seemed to be collecting villages as in
" I have been to Aristi but not to Papingo"
" Oh, I have been to Papingo and Aristi but not Tsepelovo"
