You can get a good start on the main things here (http://www.mgsforum.org/smf/index.php?board=48.0). If you run into real difficulties using the Forum, try clicking on the Help button in the top menu bar.
As the Forum develops, and as people tell us about problems, we will put common questions and answers into this section, so that anyone facing the same difficulty can find the answer here.
When technical questions have been raised and answered on other pages of the Forum, they will be moved here too, so as not to clutter those pages.

The first time you look at this Forum, you may worry about what you have to do when you see the Welcome, Guest message - how do you log in?
You don't need to do anything!
You can look at any part of the Forum just by clicking on the headings, like How the Forum works - that heading is a good start. That will show a set of sub-headings, and when you click on one of those your screen will show the text (and any pictures).
If you want to post messages yourself, or reply or add to other postings, then you must join the Forum. On the Home page, click on the word Register that shows in blue in the Welcome Guest panel. A new screen will then take you through the quick and easy process.
If you still have problems, you can email me or one of the other Moderators, and we can register you ourselves.

Just to add to Alisdairs information,
When you do register, please dont forget to give some information in your Profile regarding where are you gardening , few details about your climate, temp. rainfall etc.
It helps other members to find out which plants they can grow in similar conditions.
