Title: Sedum hintonii or S mocinianum

I bought a S "hintonii" a couple of years ago and was happy both with the plant and the name until I bought a copy of Brent Horvath's book "The Plant Lover's Guide to Sedums". He alerts us to the fact that what is often sold as S hintonii is actually S mocinianum. A search on the internet throws up countless photos of S mocinianum incorrectly labelled as S hintonii. This article from the Sedum Society shows a photo of the real S hintonii http://www.cactus-mall.com/sedum/hintonii.html and includes the following quote. "He was fairly sure that this was the true S. hintonii but needed to know that the inflorescences were far longer than those of S. mocinianum, a commonly grown relative almost always carrying the label "Sedum hintonii" [see Figure 11]."

Thanks to you Brent if you are reading this posting and here is a photo of my S mocinianum flowering, taken about a month ago. Now I am happy with both the plant and the new name.
