Title: Holy Land plants IDd by Oron as Scaevola, Limonium, Tipuana and an Oenothera
Post by: Hilary on August 28, 2011, 11:17:24 AM
These  photos are of plants we saw in the Holy Land in 2000. Pre digital camera.
I think I have identified a couple but  leave them anonymous here for the experts to
have their say

Hilary, I hope someone identifies the first photo as I would also love to know it.
It looks identical to an unknown plant that has seeded itself in my garden this year.
Mine has slightly succulent, scented leaves.
The second photo looks like a limonium. I will leave it to others, to say which one, as I don't know them enough yet. ::)
I don't know the others.
Lovely photos.
Daisy :)

Wonderful. Many thanks for such a quick reply.
That is another 4 off my list of unidentified plants.
Sorry about the upside down one.
I had found the Tipuana but not the other three
Once more thanks

Lovely pictures, Daisy; thanks!
Here is your one of the Scaevola, turned back right way up (incidentally, this apparently has a couple of synonyms - Lobelia crassifolia, and Merkusia crassifolia - but I don't think either of those is in common use anywhere).
