Title: Permaculture information
Post by: John J on May 06, 2014, 06:56:58 PM
As Vice President of the MGS I was tasked with responsibility for the subject of education, in its broadest sense. Since being given this job I have been in contact with various individuals and organisations seeking information about any methods or systems whose employment might be of benefit to our members. One of those was the Permaculture Research Institute of Greece and I have been negotiating an opportunity to view one of their projects. Today I received an e-mail from them with details of a course they are holding here in Cyprus in October. Unfortunately it is scheduled to take place at a time when I will be off island attending the MGS AGM in Menton. However, I am passing on the link to their web, not because I expect anyone to attend the course but for the interesting information that the site contains.

I'd very very interested to know from our Australian Forum members whether any Permaculture principles had found there way into gardening practice in Australia. I was convinced by the usefulness of swales - water-collecting ditches - but I couldn't work out how to incorporate them into my garden.

Following on from my initial posting I have information about another permaculture course to be held in April 2015 on the island of Kefalonia.
