We have viburnum tinus, 8 years old and very healthy, and 3 elaeagnus, again 8 years old and healthy. In the past month their leaves have become covered in tiny black spots, size of a pin head and they look like they may well die, leaves are falling off and they look generally sick. I treated the former with a general purpose spray a week ago but no help at all. Anyone with any ideas as to what I can do to save them.
Thanks for any help.

Do you have any pics? It would be unusual for the same disease to attack to very different species viz Viburnum and Eleagnus, both different botanical species, but I supppose it could happen. Can you give us more information?
