A very old, nearly forgotten climber! The long hanging inflorescences are amazing, and they are scented. The frost hardiness is impressively high: In the southern part of Germany, a really cold area, you can plant them at sheltered places outside. Otherwise a nice idea for conservatories - or outside in milder climates. Tolerates absolutely shady places.

In London this is quite a common shrub which is often grown against a wall and can be trained to climb as in this picture on a friends house. It is two stories high to around 10 meters. It has to be pruned regularly to keep it under control. At home we have it as a free standing shrub which we have to prune to keep it to around 2 meters high.
