Fritillaria which?..ID'd by JTh as Fritillaria messanensis ssp gracilis

I don't know if this photo is sufficient for a positive ID, but if anyone has an idea about it I'd much appreciate it. Somewhat foolishly I thought this might be F. pyrenaica, I'm sure Oron would say it's not its range, I'd agree, this is probably something more humdrum. Anyway this was captured in early April on the floor of the oriental hornbeam forest, the blurry blooms in the background are Anemone blanda, and there was a profusion of Erythronium dens-canis as well. But I have no knowledge of Fritillarias! (Oh yes-this was some three/four km inland from the Adriatic coast near Dubrovnik)

I wonder if this is Fritillaria messanensis ssp gracilis, which I have seen in the same region, at least some of my photos of this species look very much like that.
Retired veterinary surgeon by training with a PhD in parasitology,  but worked as a virologist since 1992.
Member of the MGS  since 2004. Gardening in Oslo and to a limited extent in Halkidiki, Greece.
