Title: I might call it 'clover-leaf tree' [later identified by Oron as Rhus glauca]
Post by: MikeHardman on October 08, 2011, 08:12:06 AM
Sapling in garden centre in Paphos; I might call it 'clover-leaf tree'.
I really don't have much info on this one.
The leaves are shaped like a 3-leaved clover or shamrock.
As I recall, it was not spiny.

Probably Rhus glauca but can also be a form of R. laevigata,[ better know as R. mucranata, now its synonymus] which is quite quite variabile.
Hard to tell from this photo.

Thank you Oron.
I didn't expect that. The Rhus I am familiar with is R. typhina - very different.
Having now done a bit of research, I also lean towards R. glauca, based on the leaves.
