This Cryptostephanus vansonii from the Amaryllidaceae family is currently flowering although the photos were taken a week or two ago. It is quite difficult to pollinate the flowers and I normally place the plant outside of the shade house for bees to have a go and there seemed to be some success.

Do try crossing this species with Clivia if you get the chance!

John,
Many growers have tried without success over the years. I have never tried although mine flowers anytime of the year and one of them flowered together with an Clivia Interspecific about 2 months ago. I keep it because it is quite rare. The Cryptostephanus haemanthoides is a really rare one.
