Found on the Algarve - ID'd by Oron as Cordyline stricta

We have scratched our heads over this one, but no luck ! We think it might be some sort of cordyline, but normally they have white flowers don't they ?  Any and all help gratefully received.

Thanks very much Oron, it is good to get this named. At the risk of acquiring pest status yet again, here are one or two more puzzles we have locally ! I think the pink flowered thistle is perhaps a Galactites ? and the Tradescantia with an enormous pink flower head is a great plant for under the shade of carobs, the prickly shrub is flowering at the moment,

as always, any and all comments gratefully received. Best wishes from the Algarve.

Rosie,
first is Centaurea cineraria, still its synonym is more in use: Centaurea gymnocarpa
second looks like a Dichorisandra thyrsiflora in a bad day...
third, probably Ziziphus spina-christi
