Rain last night
I am about to send a few of my friends autumn photos, properly named, as far as I can manage.
This is where your invaluable help is needed.
I saw this thistle like seed head in a hedgerow in England recently, but have no idea of its name.
Any ideas?

Oron,
Many thanks
When I was a child in the north of England we used to have a fizzy drink called Dandelion and Burdock

Hilary. I remember Dandelion and Burdock! It was my favourite.
When the Corona man came round with his van, my brother and sisters and I used to squabble about which flavour we would buy.
I would always argue for Dandelion and Burdock. ;D

Recently a young UK friend was very pleased to find dandelion and burdock cordial, locally made somewhere in NW England. Does anyone know how such a cordial would be made. Thanks Joanna

With all too many prickles from it along our lane sides, I'd upgrade Oron's "probably" Arctium lappa to "definitely"!  :)
Joanna, if you google "dandelion and burdock recipe" you'll find several - all need you to dig up the roots of both plants.
