Title: Another Robinia? ID'd by Fermi and Oron as Cassia javanica
Post by: pamela on August 21, 2013, 12:48:29 PM
I saw this tree in the Middle East somewhere (but dont suspect its endemic to the area ) which looks like a Robinia (leaf) but the  flower is different...Any ideas....?

oooh! thank you both very much.  That was quick.  I think I found this tree in the southern half of the Red Sea near the Sudan border some three years ago.  I have grown 5 seeds and now they are quite strong so I will plant them out in Sept/Oct after the first rains.  I hope they will survive our soil and climate.........
