Colchicum variegatum

I tacked this little Colchicum onto the end of a bulb order as an after thought and forgot it. I got a very nice surprise when it promptly flowered! Of course they are autumn flowering but I didn't give it much thought.

I look forward to this one building up and becoming a nice little clump.

Long hot summers, mild wet winters. Rainfall approx. 600mm pa.
Summer maximums over 40 degrees, winter minimums occasionally below freezing.
Gardening on neutral clay loam and sandy loam.
