I have gardened in sub-tropical Florida, maritime UK, continental Europe and the Mediterranean basin, France. Of the 4 I have found that the most difficult climate for gardening is the latter.

Memembryanthemum?

I'm thinking 'inner edge of petals', but you picture teases in several ways:
- if the photo extended up further, would it show the pink strips coming to similar points as in the bottom?
- is the black background part of the plant, or just background?
